    Choosing assessment activities

 

In order to choose assessment activities we must know that assessment is the way of collecting information about students’ performance. We have to ways to assess learners formally or informally. Formal assessment is when we assess learners through a test and we give them a grade. However, informal assessment is when we observe how well learners are doing something. Furthermore, we as teacher must take into account that every assessment activity has advantages and disadvantages. For this reason, when planning assessment we have to include a variety of assessment activities. Also, it is very important the reasons for assessing learners and the learners’ needs. All of these could help us to assess students in a correct way achieving the goals we have set at the beginning of the class. 

     To sum up, it is very important to have clear reasons to assess learners taking into account they needs and the main aims that we want to learners achieve during the class.
